Golf

The Philippines may not be your first thought when you think of ultimate golf vacations, but the archipelago has a history of golf that dates back to the late 1880s. The first instance of the sport occurred when a three-way course was built by British expats working on the railway near the paddy fields of Intramuros, Manila. fifteen years later that small course would turn into a nine-hole one and eventually influence the birth of the Manila Golf Club.

Now the archipelago plays host to the Philippine Open – the oldest nation-wide golf championship in Asia. Beyond that the Philippines has also been the site of other prestigious golf tournaments such as the Asian PGA and even the World Cup.

The Philippines is the only place on your golf vacation where you’ll be able to tee off in the most eclectic and incredible backdrops including majestic mountainsides, palm tree lined nature scapes, and storied colonial architecture.
